A practical guide to early Buddhism

Picture
'A teaching that is good in the beginning, good in the middle, and good in the end, meaningful and well-phrased; a spiritual practice that’s entirely full and pure.'

-Buddha, DN2.
I'm delighted to announce the release of my new book, In Buddha's Wake. This book is a practical guide to the incredibly rich tradition of early Buddhism, offering a simple, accessible approach for anyone interested in meditation, mindfulness and inner exploration. Amongst other topics, we'll explore practical methods for calming the mind and body, being more present in our daily life activities, opening our hearts to love and compassion, cultivating deep states of bliss, joy and peace, and discovering profound insights into who we really are.

You can find out more about the book on the corresponding page on my website, but it's offered freely, so you've nothing to lose by downloading it and jumping in right now! If you'd prefer a print copy, that's also available via the Lulu store; there's a small cost for that, which covers the expenses of printing and shipping the book.

I had a lot of fun writing this book; just as with my previous book, Resting in the Unborn, the writing process exposed areas of my own practice and understanding that needed some work, and ultimately helped me to resolve questions that had been puzzling me for decades.

I hope the teachings of early Buddhism are as helpful for you as they've been for me.
